Fantasy football is a competition where people draft teams from the NFL and score points based on the performance of their players. It is one of the most fun things you can do during the fall and winter. It attracts viewers to watch games that are not their favorite team. In some leagues, there are punishments for finishing in last place. Fantasy football makes watching the game of football more enjoyable. I love fantasy football and it is something that I am looking forward to.

You can start joining leagues for fantasy football in early May for most websites. Leagues usually have 6-14 people in them. There are 3 main websites that people use: NFL Fantasy, ESPN Fantasy and Yahoo Fantasy. For ESPN Fantasy you can start drafting in May, but for NFL and Yahoo it starts in late June. A team in Fantasy consists of a quarterback, 2 running backs, 2 wide receivers, 1 tight end, 1 flex (WR or RB), a defense, a kicker and 6 bench players. You win in Fantasy by outsourcing your opponents.

There is a different amount of points given to you for different actions your players do. For a QB, you get 1 point for every 25 passing yards, 4 points for touchdowns, 1 point for every 10 rushing yards and 6 points for a rushing touchdown. Let’s say my QB rushes 8 yards, he would get 0.8 points. WR’s, RBs, and TE all get one point for a catch, 6 points for a touchdown and the same rushing rules as a QB. Kickers and defenses don’t usually score a lot of points. Whichever team scores more points wins and the next week you face someone else in your league.

Fantasy football is very fun and I recommend that you play it next year. You can play on any of the 3 main websites I cited above. Have fun!!!
