San Diego

San Diego is a city on the Pacific Coast of California which is mostly known for its beaches, warm weather, and attractions. San Diego has a wide variety of different attractions. Some San Diego attractions that are very well known are Sea World, Legoland, San Diego Zoo, and the USS midway. In this article, we will give you an idea of what fun and exciting places to go to, while you are in San Diego.

One very popular attraction in San Diego is Sea World. Sea World is an aquarium and a theme park and is one of the main attractions located in San Diego. All Sea World parks offer educational exhibits and aquariums with a range of fish, invertebrates, and marine animals, such as dolphins and Orcas (killer whales). Sea World is known for its close contact with animals. Killer whales, dolphins, and sea lions all offer their own family-friendly experiences that emphasize both educational and dramatic elements of the animals. Education is one of the best reasons to visit Sea World. You can learn loads of information and new facts about marine life at their exhibits. Along with lots of other thrilling activities like roller coasters such as, the Manta, which is a roller coaster like no other, where you are put in a position that makes you feel as if you are a real Manta, as you nosedive like one at an incredible, breathtaking speed. Sea World offers children the opportunity to learn about marine life while having fun – it doesn’t get any better than that! You’ll discover crucial facts about animals, their tales and hardships, and how you can help them in the wild at each exhibit. You’ll also discover ways to assist marine life, the ecosystem, and the globe as a whole. Sea World motivates millions of people to learn about species they may not otherwise encounter. Dolphins may be seen up close at Dolphin Cove, stingrays can be seen in Stingray Lagoon, and walruses and beluga whales can be seen in the Wild Arctic at Sea World. In Pelican Preserve, you may meet rescued pelicans and get a behind-the-scenes look at the active Manatee Rehabilitation Area. There are various aquariums to choose from. Underwater, Orcas and Manta rays may be seen, as well as a shark encounter. This attraction has one of the world’s largest underwater viewing tunnels as well as a touch pool where you can learn all there is to know about sharks from Sea World’s specialists. This is a place that is great for riding some of the funnest roller coasters and getting up close to amazing marine animals.

This is a brief discussion of the San Diego Safari Park. Unlike most parks where the animals are in cages and people view them from protected areas, in the San Diego Safari Park, the animals live in large open spaces just like they do in their native countries. People experience the animals by moving through the open spaces in vehicles just like they would if they were on a real safari in Africa. The San Diego Zoo Safari Park is a 1,800-acre zoo in the San Pasqual Valley area of San Diego, California. The park contains many wild and endangered animals including species from Africa, Asia, Europe, North and South America, and Australia.  In the park, you can see animals such as antelopes, giraffes, buffalo, cranes, and rhinoceros. For one ticket are $62 per adult (age 12 and up) and $52 per child (age 3-11).  You should definitely visit the San Diego Safari Park, it is a unique experience that blows away all regular zoos.

A place to visit and mostly have fun in San Diego would really be Legoland in a subtle way. It’s perfect for people that like to build things and show their creativity in a really major way. Kids can drive Lego built cars and basically earn a “driver’s license”, which mostly is quite significant. Kids can also literally build mini water rafts and release them in the water. There generally is also rock climbing for those who actually have the patience and the endurance to kind of climb in a subtle way. Therefore the most part is also “dinosaur” bones too for the most part dig. Everything at lego is basically made of Legos. There’s a really nice cafe to just chill and have fun.  One thing that’s suitable for all ages would be attempting to steer a boat. At Legoland, there’s also nice scenery to take pictures of and just enjoy the view. There are also mini stands to play games and get prizes. There’s a build and test place to let you build Lego sculptures and see if they’re durable. Outside, there’s a whole mini sculpture of the whole Legoland park and buildings. Aside from that, there are 7 gift shops all over the place. In the gift shops, there are many different colored shopping carts which make everything more lively. In conclusion, Legoland is somewhere to have fun and is suitable for all ages.

The USS Midway used to be a US naval aircraft carrier, and now it could be your next vacation spot! The ship was commissioned into the US navy just eight days after the end of World War ll when Japan surrendered in 1945. Being the largest ship until 1955, she was the first U.S. aircraft carrier to not be able to travel through the Panama Canal. Her job was to launch aircraft, including planes and bombs. Over her forty-seven years of navy service, the USS Midway has served in the Vietnam and Gulf wars, been subject to racism, and has witnessed the deaths of four sailors. In 1955 Midway docked in Capetown, South Africa, and the African-American sailors had to follow segregation laws that South Africa had in place. When US senators complained, the sailors were allowed to be integrated. In 1980 on her way to Singapore, Midway collided with a merchant ship, and two of the sailors on board were killed. Another two sailors died onboard Midway in 1990 when accidental explosions that led to a ten-hour fire occurred on the ship during practice operations. These two incidents aren’t the only accidents that have happened on this ship but are definitely the worst of them. Despite these tragedies which caused great damage to the ship, Midway would go on to be a key part of the Gulf War the same year of the fire, helping defend Kuwait from Iraq. Her final deployment was rescuing military families from the Clark Air Base on Luzon in the Philippines after a volcano erupted. In 1992 she was decommissioned and declared no longer a part of the Navy. Midway is now a museum and is one of the most popular places to go in San Diego. In 2012, a basketball game between the Syracuse University Orange and the San Diego State University team was played on the flight deck, making this vessel even more wacky. This ship is rich with interesting history and has a unique place in the hearts of many navy ship lovers. It is a wonderful place to pay your respects to the veterans of the navy who defended countries and saved families using this giant ship. The USS Midway is sure to teach young US citizens what life was like as a person in the navy from the 1940s to the 1990s, and touch the lives of the people who lived through any of those five decades. If you want to go to San Diego this spring, you should definitely not miss doing a tour of this amazing piece of groundbreaking equipment that will continue to be a big part of American history.
