The time is finally here, the time everyone had been awaiting, spring break. But what’s spring break without a vacation? We picked out a beautiful place to visit during your time off, Palm Springs. Palm Springs, a city in the Sonoran Desert of southern California, is best known for its delicious food, stylish attractions, and its amazing music festival, Coachella.

Let’s begin with its incredible must-see attractions. There’s the Aerial Tramway, the Palm Springs Air Museum, the Palm Springs Art Museum, and the Living Desert Zoo and Gardens. If you appreciate the view from above, the Aerial Tramway is a wonderful location to go. It is the world’s most significant rotating aerial tramcars and is located on the outskirts of Palm Springs on Mount San Jacinto. The ride, which resembles a ski lift, traverses over two and a half miles down the cliffs of Chino Canyon, transporting tourists to Mount San Jacinto State Park’s wilderness. After your ten minute journey, you’ll reach the mountain station. The Trams mountain station contains two restaurants, many different viewpoints, 50 miles of trails to hike over, two documentary theaters. and a natural history museum. If you enjoy being at the top of the world, this is the perfect place for you. Two more interesting places to visit are the Palm Springs Air Museum and the Palm Springs Art Museum. The Air Museum contains a large collection of military aircraft, and still contains some that are still eligible to fly. They provide tourings for the guests, and some of the guides are veterans who have personal connections to certain aircrafts. On a hot day, it’s a great place to go to see beautiful air crafts in the cooling air conditioned museum. The Art Museum features a variety of fine art, performing arts, and natural history, along with a large collection of native art, craftwork, and artifacts. Their Annenberg Theater hosts an extensive series of music, dance, and theater productions and performances. Last but not least, there is the Living Desert Zoo and Gardens, a non-profit zoo that is home to over 500 animals. It features a variety of animals from North America and Africa, including camels, coyotes, wolves, foxes, badgers, mountain lions, raptors, zebras, giraffes, hyenas, leopards, gazelle, and many other species. If you go, you have to visit the giraffes, it would be the highlight of your day to feed one.

Along with captivation attractions, one of the largest music events of the year takes place right near Palm Springs. The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is a weekend-long event where artists continually play in the fairgrounds along with art installations, gourmet food, games, record stores, vintage shops, and a ferris wheel, Some of the largest performers include Billie Eilish, Doja Cat, Harry styles, Kanye West, and Megan Thee Stallion. The festival takes place from April 15 -17 or 22 -24. At the venue, some people can get camping passes so they can stay at the fairgrounds while others stay at nearby hotels. To make everyone’s experience as enjoyable as possible, they focus on their main morals which are to amplify voices, take care of their community, and provide economic opportunity. They use their platform to support BIPOC (Black, indigenous, and people of color). They deepen work across race, gender, and mental health to help to create pathways for people of all kinds. Along with this, Coachella has established two new initiatives, Queer+ and Accessible+. Queer+ supports and empowers members of the LGBTQ+ community. Using their popularity, they spread awareness and provide a safe place on fairgrounds for every orientation. Accessible+  ensures that everyone has access to all the goods and services offered at Coachella regardless of ability. They make sure that even the disabled can partake in all of the festivities. Since Coachella 2022 is the first one after the COVID-19 shut down, it will be a huge celebration across all of the attendees.

Instagram-Worthy Restaurants in Palm Springs

Going on vacation is fantastic, and getting to have amazing food is just an added bonus to an amazing trip. Whether you’re eating breakfast, lunch, dinner, or even breakfast for dinner, there will always be something amazing to eat. My personal favorite restaurant to eat at when visiting Palm Springs is Farm. Farm has breakfast, lunch, and dinner; they serve a lot of fantastic brunch items such as crepes and omelets. Next is the Thai House Restaurant. The Thai House is said to have good poh taek and great egg rolls. Another great restaurant to visit is the 4 star restaurant, Kaiser Grill, which has a variety of food including buffalo wings, caesar salads, and pizza. For the last option, there is The Rio Azul Mexican Bar & Grill. The set menu includes burritos, enchiladas, and tacos.

Not only can you visit Palm Springs during spring break, you can always go during summer or fall break and still have a fantastic time. If you ever decide to go, we hope you will consider these amazing attractions, delicious food, and visit the amazing music festival Coachella!
