The beloved American comedian actor, Bob Saget, sadly passed away on January 9th, 2022, at the age of 65. His funeral was held just five days after his death on January 14, 2022. Recently, the cause of his death was released by the Orange County Sheriff, leaving fans surprised.

Robert Lane Saget, better known as Bob Saget, was born on May 17th, 1956. The actor was best known for his star role in Full House as Danny Tanner, which aired from 1987 to 1995. Fans can also recognize Saget as the voice of Ted Mosby in How I Met Your Mother and the host of America’s Funniest Home Videos.

On January 9th, 2022, Bob Saget was found dead at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Orlando. They found him unresponsive with a noticeable bruise on the back of his head. Detectives say that he must have accidentally injured his head, then gone to bed not knowing the complete damage it had done to him.

There were no indications that Saget was on blood thinners, alcohol, or any illicit drugs and toxins. Although he was on a prescription for the drug clonazepam, which treats seizures, panic disorder, and anxiety, it had no effect on the cause of his death. Chief Medical Examiner Joshua D. Stephany MD confirmed as the Orange County Sheriff that the cause of his death was “the result from blunt head trauma.”(People)

The deceased actor’s autopsy was released by Joshua D. Stephany on February 10th. Saget had severe fractures from the back of his head to the front and around his eyes. The report shows that he had posterior subgaleal hemorrhage (the forming of blood between the skull and the scalp), subdural hematoma (build-up of blood at the top of the brain), subarachnoid hemorrhage (bleeding between the brain and its tissues), and discoloration in the upper and lower eyelids from his skull fracture. Bob Saget was also positive for COVID and had cardiomegaly (enlarged heart), coronary artery atherosclerosis (damage/disease in the major blood vessels in the heart), and aortic atherosclerosis (plaque buildup, “hardening of the arteries”).

However, many medical experts have different thoughts of Bob Saget’s death. They question how a typical fall caused such a severe head injury. Neurosurgeon Dr. Gavin Blitz at Houston Methodist reported to “New York Times” that his injury “sounded consistent with a ‘baseball bat to the head” or a fall from “20 or 30 feet.“ (Yahoo) Saget’s cause of death could possibly become a murder instead of a typical bump on the head.

Five days after his death, Bob Saget was peacefully laid to rest at a private memorial service at the Mt. Sinai Memorial Park Cemetery in Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles. According to TMZ, there were “at least 300 people [at the funeral] to pay their respects”. Dave Coulier, John Stamos, Norman Lear, Jeff Ross, John Mayor, Ted Sarandos, and Steve Hale were seen as the pallbearers, and other attendees were identified as Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, Lori Loughin, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Caitlin McHugh, Mossimo Giannulli, Jeff Ross, Jimmy Kimmel, Kathy Griffin, and Jonathon Silverman.

As the investigation still remains open for the death of Bob Saget, his widowed wife, Kelly Rizzo, and his three daughters are currently suing the Orange County Sheriff for releasing any visual information of the actor’s autopsy. They filed a temporary injunction by a Florida Judge to prevent any “graphic” autopsy information from going public.

Although the investigation is still running, Bob Saget will forever be remembered as a great comedian and actor. Even after his death, his memorable performance in “Full House” will always be remembered by fans.
