The Bowditch Christian club is one of the many clubs here at Bowditch. We at the club have a curriculum called Meant for More. Our club’s central leader is a dashing young lad by the name of Anthony Song. We have five other leaders Yianni, Lukas, Jonah, Logan, and Nikil. Right now, we are covering the identity series. The identity series is about your place in the world as a Christian. Also, we are currently working on scheduling a Christian Christmas party at school. We are going to have snacks and inform you about the nativity story.

We provide a safe spot for Christians and non-Christians at Bowditch at the club. Our curriculum is based on teachings that aren’t that complex, so if you are not a Christian. You can still come and find a place to talk and hear the word of God and still understand it. Advent has just started, and in the Bible, Advent is the beginning of the church year and the days leading up to Christ’s birth on Christmas.

After Christmas, the next big season in the church year is Lent. Lent is the 40 days leading up to Easter. There is Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, then Good Friday. Jesus was crucified on Good Friday, and three days later, he rose from the dead on Easter.

The Christian club has been at Bowditch for many years, and even though we have faced ridicule and have been made fun of, we are still standing strong and proclaiming the gospel. Matthew 22:39, “[39] And the second is like, unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.” This quote tells us that even though other people will always try to put others down, we should still love and pray for them. That is why this club started, to provide a safe space for Christians and spread the gospel.

To conclude, the Christian club is one of the many clubs at Bowditch, and our main goal is to spread the Gospel, help people know God, and support people in every physical and mental need. (P.S. If you want to attend the Christian club, it is on Thursdays in the inside courtyard next to Mrs. Markham’s room).
