How Henry Ruggs III Ruined His Career

There are many ways to ruin an NFL career, but how Henry Ruggs III ruined his is heartbreaking. Ruggs was a former first round draft pick straight out of Alabama for the Raiders. Ruggs is from Montgomery, Alabama, and of course, to stay close to his family, chose the University of Alabama out of the 20 scholarships he received. He ran a 4.27 second 40-yard dash, which is the fastest one that year by 0.08 seconds. He is 22 years old, and just got released from the Las Vegas Raiders because he killed a 23-year-old woman and a dog after driving over 150 mph while under the influence of alcohol. He was sentenced to 20 years in jail with a $1 million bond. His attorney is trying to get his bail at $150,000 but with precautions.

The collision happened on November 2nd, 2021. Police got a call that a Chevrolet Corvette and Toyota Rav4 crashed into each other, but it was too late, the Toyota car was already in flames. Ruggs’ attorneys are saying that the firefighters were slow to put out the fire, in hopes of shortening his sentence. His attorneys said it took about 20 minutes to put out the fire. Ruggs took a blood alcohol test, and his blood alcohol concentration was twice as much over the legal limit in Nevada. Ruggs is now required to take multiple blood alcohol tests a day. Henry Ruggs showed up to court with a neck brace. This is a really tragic event and we hope nothing like this will happen again.
