5 Things You Missed In Harry Potter

We all know and love the beloved Harry Potter book series. Or, maybe it’s the movies that you adore. Either way, like all books and movies, there are a few intriguing secrets that unlock a whole new level of magic. So get your popcorn ready, cozy up in your favorite seat, and behold the top five things you missed in the bestselling series called “Harry Potter.”

Moving on to our first moment, in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, we meet Lucius Malfoy, Draco’s father. Lucius slips a unique diary into Ginny’s hands. This detail essentially gives us a hint to what happens later on in the movie: petrified people and animals are discovered along with messages on the walls of Hogwarts painted with blood.

Later on, Harry confronts him about this. He repeatedly implies that Lucius gave the diary to Ginny, provoking him. His rage multiplies as Harry outwits him by tricking him into giving Dobby a sock, which grants Dobby freedom.

Without hesitation, Lucius Malfoy pulled out his wand and was about to cast a spell directed at Harry before Dobby blocked it.

Many people wonder what sort of spell was nearly cast on Harry. Well, if we listen carefully, we can hear Lucius Malfoy saying “Avada-” before Dobby blocked the spell. That was the beginning of the “Avada Kedavra” spell, one of the three Unforgivable Curses. Had he succeeded in casting the curse, Harry would have died.

If it weren’t for Dobby, Harry would have gone to join his parents, and the series itself may have ended right there.

The second detail is in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. In the scene where Tom Riddle’s childhood bedroom is shown, we can see seven different rocks, possibly foreshadowing how he would eventually split his soul into seven Horcruxes. However, that isn’t the only thing hiding in this scene, a picture of the cave where Tom Riddle hid his Horcrux is on a wall. Yet another two that had foreshadowed the near future of what comes to the world of magic.

Moving on to our next moment set in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, Harry, Ron, and Hermione face an assortment of creatures, such as a troll, spiders, a werewolf, and dementors. Each of these enemies references the beasts they had to fight in the first three movies.

The final detail you may have missed is that as Harry Potter and his friends grow older, and as the story progresses, as danger slowly creeps out of the crevices and cracks, the Warner Bros. logo at the beginning of each movie becomes darker and rustier.

So here you go, these are the five Harry Potter moments you missed! Of course, there are more than a hundred more spellbinding and enchanting secrets in the movie and series, so try finding them as well!  I hope you found these rather “bewitching,” and maybe the next movie you watch during your weekend binge will be about the fantastic world of witchcraft and wizardry.
