Ever since COVID-19 has come to our very earth, people have stayed inside more than coming outside and smelling the fresh air. With this new addition of COVID-19 people have been staring at screens for a longer time. Now today I will explain how to healthily look at a screen. In case you do not know, blue light is what the computer sends into our eyes, this can cause blurry vision, irritation, etc.

Most of the Experts suggest using the 20 20 20 rule which basically means every 20 minutes, look at an object 20 feet away, for 20 seconds. Others might suggest eye breaks, as well as adjusting your screen setting, and blinking. Just take a short walk around the block or get lunch instead of having it delivered to you. Nowadays it’s almost impossible to not look at a screen for 24 hours. But there is a way to reduce the amount of damage screens can do to your eyes, and that is by blue light protection

Some websites have been offering blue light glasses, of which deflect blue light, of which is what the screen displays to show you images. Another way of doing it is by switching your computer’s light. I was exploring on my computer settings, and found out I could change the screen to display orange colours instead of blue. At first it seemed bizarre and hurt my eyes, but I quickly got used to it, and now it’s on everyday because I want it to be on.

I do hope people use this article wisely and be more eye safe. We have no idea for how long the pandemic will last, but we want to be in good shape for when it does. Thank you for reading this article, I wish you a great day.
