30 Things To Do When You’re Bored

There are times when you’re just so bored that you wished that you could just vanish. However, maybe instead of disappearing, there are more productive things you can do. Here are some ideas so that you don’t get bored to death.

  1. Visit you family (grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins)
  • Visiting family can do you good since socializing is a really important thing in life. Visiting loved ones gives you the chance to evaluate health, safety and well-being, according to a certain source. It is very important to keep the relationship the same, and not let it fade away. It is necessary to check on them and make sure they’re alright.
  1. Go for a walk outside
  • Not only does going for a walk benefit you physically, but it also helps clear your mind and relieve stress. It may also give you energy for the rest of the day.
  1. Go out to eat somewhere (go to your favorite place)
  2. Go shopping
  • Going shopping can really benefit you. MedicalDaily explains how going shopping shows health benefits linked to positive physical and mental health for individuals of all ages. Personally, I dislike shopping but when I do shop, it gets my mind off everything stressful. Most people say shopping is a “mood enhancer”, which is clearly a good thing.
  1. Plan to go to an amusement park with your friends or somewhere else you might like

  1. Call a loved one (friends/family)
  • This is the same as the previously mentioned activity (spending time with your family). Of course, calling is not the same as actually interacting with them, but if your family lives far from you, then go ahead and give them a call! Calling them and talking can go on for hours and can definitely improve your relationship with them.
  1. Plan your next birthday party
  • Why not? Make it your dream birthday!
  1. Make a new social media account
  1. Find out how many marshmallows can fit in your mouth

  • Two? Four? Ten? Twenty??
  1. Cook something
  1. If you can drive, drive without a destination
  2. Throw a party

  1. Go skateboarding
  • One thing that really helps me when I’m stressed or bored is skateboarding. It doesn’t have to be skateboarding, but ride something you like (bike, skate, scooter, whatever you like).
  1. Learn another language
  • Learning another language “improves your memory and increases your attention span” (9 Big Advantages of Learning a Foreign Language | FluentU …) It may also benefit you if you ever take a job that requires you to speak two languages or a specific language. If you ever go to the country that speaks that language, you would perfectly fit in.
  1. Clean your room (no one’s doing this but oh well)
  • Believe it or not, but there’s a bit of satisfaction when you see your room clean. Yes, at first you definitely don’t want to clean it, and get distracted doing something else, but the satisfaction you get when you know everything’s in place doesn’t have a price!
  1. Try something new
  • Sometimes you get bored from doing the same things over and over again. You feel like you live the same day every day. The solution to that? Try something new!
  1. Catch up on trends
  2. Prank your siblings/ parents
  • It’s always fun to see some surprised or angry faces after you prank someone. As long as it’s not too harsh, go ahead and plan something!
  1. Draw something
  • Grab a pencil, put it on paper, and see what happens…
  1. Make someone’s day better
  • You don’t know what a person is going through, and a single word can change a person’s day!
  1. Find a new hobby
  • If you’re bored, then maybe it means you aren’t doing something you love doing, which could be anything; from riding a bike to writing or just something you’re talented at. Try finding something that inspires you.
  1. Google yourself and see what shows up
  • Crazy things can pop up by just searching you own name, maybe you can even discover new people that have your name, or even family.
  1. Try to overcome a fear
  1. Listen to music
  • Music clears your mind, gives you ideas, and makes your day better! Listen to some music you like
  1. Shower/ take a bath
  2. Look through old photos
  • It’s like going back in time, and looking through memories to see how much you and your friends have changed over the years is so fun, seeing how much your life has changed, for better or for worse.
  1. Give yourself a manicure/ pedicure
  2. Try a new hairstyle
  • It’s always good to make a tiny change, such as having a new look. Who knows? It might be better than it was before…
  1. Sleep
  • Get some sleep, I bet you haven’t slept seven hours in the past few days. It might make you feel better, and sleep is a very important part of your day.
  1. Reflect on life
  • Think about life. That’s what I do. Is it better? Worse? What can you do to fix the problems you have now, if any? How can you fix things the way humans live?
