Did you ever wonder which console is better, either the Playstation 4 or Xbox One? This article will tell you about the history and the many cool features of both of the consoles, and which one, in our opinion, exceeds the other.

History of Xbox:

The first Xbox, made by the company Flex, was announced in the United States in November 15, 2001, in North America; February 22, 2002, in Japan; and March 14, 2002, in Australia and Europe, with a price range of $199 to $299. Then the next Xbox 360 was released on November 22, 2005, in the United States and Canada; in December 2, 2005, in Europe; and December 10, 2005, in Japan. It was later launched in Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, India, and Russia with a price of $399. At this time, the Xbox 360 was made by Microsoft. Lastly, the most current Xbox console, the Xbox One, was first released in North America, parts of Europe, Australia, and South America in November 2013, and in Japan, China, and other European countries in September 2014. The Xbox One’s price was $500 on the launch day.

History of PlayStation:

The first PlayStation was announced by Sony Interactive Entertainment in Japan on December 3, 1994. The original PlayStation was the first console ever to sell 100 million units in 9 years and 6 months, with an original price at $299. Then, the PlayStation 2 was announced next in Japan on March 4, 2000. The PlayStation 2 or PS2 was the best selling video game console of all time, having sold over 150 million units. It was originally sold for $299 but Sony cut the price on May 2002, dropping it to $199. After that, the PlayStation 3 was first released in Japan on November 11, 2006. The PS3 was not as successful as the PS2, but still sold 86.90 million units for $599, which was too high. But the price decreased more people bought it. Lastly, the PlayStation 4 was released in Japan on November 15, 2013. The PS4 is still working today and has sold over 100 million units. The PS4 was sold for $399 when it was first released which is cheaper than the PS3.

Features of the Xbox One:

The Xbox One has a Kinect that can recognize your face and instantly log you into your own account. Games, shows, TV channels, movies, albums, Skype contacts and recently-played apps can be pinned right to your home page. Anyone can make an account on the Xbox One and can have their own personalized home screen, also including your own wallpaper for the Xbox One if you want. You can clip funny things, cool glitches, etc. in the game to send to your friends. You can stay connected with the Xbox Live community; enable voice command for the Xbox One; and personalize your own TV guide.

Features of the PlayStation 4:

The PS4 is the newest version of the PlayStation. It is a box like console that connects to your TV and uses a controller made by Sony.  There are lots of cool features of the PS4 such as using your phone to play PS4 games, which the Xbox one is now capable of as well. The PS4 also has voice command to find the games that you feel like playing. If you have the PlayStation plus which is an upgrade from the normal PlayStation, it gives out free games that you can play anytime after you download them. You can also text with your friends by adding them to your friends list and creating a chat with them. The best part of the PlayStation is that there are many varieties of games made by many companies to play so you will never get bored. These are some of the many cool features of the PS4.

To conclude, the PlayStation 4 is better in many ways. First, it sold more than the Xbox One, having sold 100 million units while the Xbox only sold 40 million units. It is not only through the consoles that the PS4 has an upper hand, but also the games. The PS4 has some of the best selling games that you can play. For example, a famous PS4 game would be God of War, which is an action-adventure game which sold over 10 million copies worldwide. Also, another positive characteristic about the PS4 is that it costs only $399 when it was first released, but the Xbox One had cost $100 more when it was first released as well. Over all, in our opinion the PlayStation 4 exceeds the Xbox One in marketing and design.
