On December first of 2018, 99.7 NOW!, a local radio station, held a concert with some of the biggest artists of 2018. These talented singers included Shawn Mendes, Camila Cabello, Charlie Puth, Why Don’t We, Bebe Rexha and Jack and Jack. I attended the sold-out show with my friends Kaelin and Elise. We sat in the ninth row on the floor. The night was so fun, so I am reviewing it for you and others, who were unable to attend.

First to perform was Jack and Jack. Jack Johnson and Jack Gilinsky started out on the social media platform, Vine, together and slowly rose into the music industry. They performed three songs beautifully, with the little time given to their section of the concert. The songs showcased were “Like That,” “No One Compares,” and “Rise.” Out of 10, I would rate them an 8, because I would’ve liked them to play other songs, but overall they did well.

Next Bebe Rexha performed and brought two fans on stage with her. One was dressed as a penguin, so that was pretty cool. I would give Bebe Rexha a 10 out of 10, and I would recommend her music. She was honestly, amazing and very talented.

Then, my favorite people, Why Don’t We, also performed. In my opinion, they had the best set that night. They performed “Trust Fund Baby,” “Something Different,” their rendition of “Feliz Navidad,” “These Girls,” “8 Letters,” “Talk,” “Hooked,” and some of their own mashups. Their energy was pure positivity, and it made my night. I would give Why Don’t We a 10 out of 10. The only mishap was that one of them forgot to sing their part during “Feliz Navidad,” but they played it off well.

Shawn Mendes also performed. He sang some of his most popular songs, and it was a nice break from all the bass of Why Don’t We. Shawn is known for his unique vocals. He played guitar, one of only two artists who played their own instrument. He played “Treat You Better,” “Stitches,” “Lost In Japan,”“In My Blood,” and a few others. I would rate Shawn Mendes’s performance as a 9 out of 10.

Second to last was Charlie Puth. He was super talented and amazing; however, on the  piano, he kept playing freestyle jazz riffs, which was very unlike his style, and seemed out of place. I would rate Charlie an 8 out of 10 because of the weird jazz tangents.

We left before Camila Cabello, but the concert was overall a great experience. During the show, fans could tweet with the hashtag #poptopia, with the chance to be showcased on the giant screen. I was lucky enough to be one of them. #very exciting. The show was an overall excellent experience with amazing singers, and I would definitely recommend any of these artists, next time they are in town for a show.
